Powder Industry Veteran Bob Holdcroft Joins Metal Powder Works
Clinton, PA — Metal Powder Works is pleased to announce that powder metallurgy industry veteran Bob Holdcroft has joined the company to help expand its Press & Sinter market activity.
With more than four decades of experience in technical sales, powder metallurgy, and business development, Bob began his career in 1982 as a Technical Sales Representative with Pennsylvania Pressed Metals (PPM). With PPM and its successors, including Gleason Corp., Sinter Metals, Inc., and GKN Sinter Metals, he developed press-and-sinter and powder metal forging applications for Tier I automotive, appliance, and outdoor power equipment manufacturers across Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, with a strong emphasis on conversion opportunities.
Throughout his tenure, Bob has built a reputation as one of the industry’s most respected and well-known professionals, including chairing technical sessions at PowderMet, further demonstrating his leadership and engagement within the powder metallurgy community.
In his new role with Metal Powder Works, he will initially focus on growing the company’s Press & Sinter market presence, leveraging his deep customer relationships and technical expertise.
With much of the powder metallurgy industry concentrated in the St. Marys, Pennsylvania region—conveniently located near Metal Powder Works’ operations—Holdcroft’s addition further strengthens the company’s commitment to serving this core manufacturing hub.
“Bob’s industry knowledge, longstanding relationships, and proven ability to identify and develop conversion opportunities make him an exceptional addition to our team,” CEO John Barnes stated. “We are excited to have him leading efforts to expand our metal powder metallurgy business.”
A 1982 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing—following two years of engineering studies—Holdcroft combined technical expertise with commercial acumen early in his career. While at Penn State, he served as captain of the men’s golf team and competed in varsity ice hockey.
